Now that you've given away Ritchie and Kase for free maybe. I have no idea why Calgary or NYR would accept, especially with the Rangers cap situation.

With that kind of cap room and three first rounders in 2021, you can make a couple trades, and go out and sign hall and Petro and open that window back up in a hurry.

Giving away ritchie for free would make me really happy. He’s not an NHL player.

He has okay impacts. I was upset with losing Heinen, but they actually had really similar analytical profiles. I think there's way more value in trying him out for another season than giving away a contract that cheap for a player with upside.

Bergevin can have all the bargain basement players he wants. Price will never touch a cup in Montreal.

Shove your analytics. Watch him play. He’s not an NHL player anymore.

Make all those moves, have $24M in cap space without refilling the roster, and say the window is closed? #troll

You think Hall and Pietrangelo are going to save that team? Any team Hall plays on go'es into the abyss. You'd give Pietrangelo and Hall both $9 million per long term and if Tuuka retires the team is screwed.

In fairness, hall hasn’t ever played the roll of legit second liner.

I don’t think this team needs saving. They’re defending presidents trophy winners. They’ll contend again for another year before Bergeron starts to fade.

Bostons window hasnt closed first off, thats just wrong,

But I will entertain going through a mini rebuild:

1. Zboril doesnt get a 1 way deal
2. Tuukka is either gonna play his last year in Boston or retire (he will threaten retirement if they try to trade him)
3. Good Krejci, Moore, and Kase deals, Ritchie can probably still get a 4th

Do they though?

NJD was a dumpster fire and hadn't made the playoffs in the 4 seasons before acquiring Hall. His 2nd year on the team he was the league MVP and they made the playoffs. The following year he got hurt and only played in 33 games. This year w/ NJD he had 25pt in 30gp and 27pt in 35gp for ARZ. In the playoffs he had 6pt in 9gp. Lets not also act like Edmonton has exactly been some juggernaut since trading Hall. They've made the playoffs just twice in the last 4 season and never made it past the 2nd round.

Alright, it's pointless having a conversation with someone unable to understand the concepts of bias or sample size

Pointless for someone to be on this site if they want to reduce this game to what’s on a stat sheet. Watch.

You literally think stats are valuable, as long as it's less sophisticated stats like points etc. Dismissing more advanced methods in favor of simpler ones is hilarious.

I'm not trading you Chytil for Krejci 1 for 1. He's got 1 year left on his contract. Don't care how good he is in the playoffs because CHYTIL IS 21.
