Blackhawks fans after both the Kapanen for Murphy and Brodin for Strome trade ideas have fallen through.

Hallelujah. Now we don’t have to deal with all of the ridiculous Brodin to Montreal trades.

Fair AAV. A little longer than you’d like, but that’s to be expected with contracts like these.

So that's four dman at 6m$+, and still no real top 6 center. Dumba may be on the move

No more Domi for Brodin!

It will turn out as a good signing for Guerin I think. AAV is decent and 7 years is reasonable (ends at 33, edit 34)

RIP AGM threads. All other fans who thought MIN wanted too much for Brodin can relax. Although, this contract proves that he is a legit top 3 defenseman. It's a bit long, especially since it doesn't kick in for another year. But this AAV is a bit lower than I expected and he is worth every penny of it.

Not sure what the trade clauses are - that might impact how good this is. But, perhaps the most underrated defenseman in the league, and one of the best defensive guys is clearly part of the wild organization for many more years.

Good signing, MIN.

Thank goodness , we won't have to watch MTL Fans think Domi is worth more than he is in acquiring an actual good asset!

Jesus another NMC (confirmed) on Minnesota's back end pretty much means Dumba is gone in a trade or gone to Seattle

it will expire just days before he turns 35. Its a 7 year deal and begins in 21-22 since he's already signed for 20-21

looks like Dumba's gone before seattle as Spergeon, Suter, and Brodin are gonna get protected.

Can we stop arguing and rejoice at the fact that a proposal that no one liked won’t be used on this website again.

This team never learns...
I wonder when GMs are going to learn NOT to hand out 7-8 year deals to guys who are in their late 20s and early 30s. Especially when they have like 5 examples on their roster as it is.

Nice work, Guerin.

The contract is good, but I dunno about the necessity. This won't help their biggest issue, namely the lack of centers.

Great signing, he'll probably be good for the vast majority of this deal at a reasonable cap hit. Future top 4 of Suter-Spurgeon Brodin-Addison looks pretty solid, I agree this probably means Dumba is gone for expansion purposes, might as well get value before Seattle takes him for free
