what about Stammer in MTL

Created by: TheDuminator
Team: 2020-21 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 15, 2020
Published: Sep. 15, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
How to clean 8M to sign Cirelli & Sergachev... sending Johnson for anyteam that is looking for 2/3C or Top LW (Maybe Edmonton or Winnipeg or Calgary)... and proven that they don't need Stamkos in the playoff.

I could have trade Domi to be Cap compliance... or Stamkos start LITR and saves 2M on the Cap... but who cares! I wanted to debate on Stammer toMTL or trade bait

yeah they arent going to ask their captain to waive his NMC so they can trade him for cap space, and cant see him agreeing to waive it especially being cup finals bound and probably looking at winning a cup.

Let say for fun they win the Cup this season... would he agree to move on?

then package up some of Romanov, Kotkaniemi, Caufield, Suzuki for Point then. You cant get him for anything less than some of your top young assets in a package deal

Cant see it, he would need a pretty big incentive to leave a comfy Florida lifesstyle.
Unless he has a desire to play in Canada and doesnt care about the pressure and the financial hit he will get....dont see him waiting to leave to head to a market like Montreal.

Was curious and googled his wife, thinking shes from Florida, nope highschool sweetheart from Markham. Yeahs not waiving unless his wife wants to go back home to Toronto as well.

Injury prone at 8M.. lose value... NO Suzuki or KK... and Point is there to stay at 6M... they need to shed at least 10M off their book... Johnson to Edm & Stamkos to MTL... would it make sense?

Killorn is gone he has M-NTC, I think thats a lock for happening this off season. Then its trying to figure out how to get one of Johnson or Gorde to waive this NTC somewhere

Point and Ceralli I cant see them going anywhere. That will be their 1-2 punch down the middle for a long time once they get through the cap hell. Sergechev is probably the likely candidate of the RFA they would lose if they cant open the cap

Imagine needing a 1C for the last 10 years, trading for one, then playing him on the wing lol. But seriously can’t see Tampa moving Stamkos even if they wanted to

Great contract for who? a guy who is injury prone & Tampa showed that they don't need him to wim in playoff... I am saying this but we all know he is a amazing player when healthy.
When you say scrap... please they could fill their roster easily with these 3 young players. I know QTY is not Quality but they can't get Johnny Hockey or any other asset as they can't pay them for the next 3 years

He’s had injury issues i get that, but he’s still an elite player. 8.5 million for stamkos is a bargain. Pens also won a cup without Letang but you didnt see them trading him after the season.

Poehling is whatever. He could be a 3C if he hits his development.
Lehk is a third liner
Fleury a bottom pair D ceiling
And a 2nd.

Thats not enough for a guy who had 45 goals and 98 points last year, and this year was on pace for 94 points. Not even close
