Created by: Boomer125
Initial Creation Date: Sep 15, 2020

Team: 2020-21 Toronto Maple Leafs
Team Explanation
First I trade Johnsson and Kerfoot to create the space needed, and then of course Freddie is moved, after that I'll offer AP 56,000,000 with a 50,000,000 signing bonus (he's earned it) I do offer the blues Johnsson plus a 2nd rnd pick for APs rights cause I'm such a good guy

Dermott gets and accepts a QO (he logged onto Capfriendly and realized fans outside TO think he's hot garbage)

Rodriguez - take it or leave it , he can be swapped with a Mark Jankowski or any number of mid twenties RFA that will not be qualified

The good and the bad

1. Andersen - Solid starting goalie, making $1M of cash with 1 year left is worth wayyyyyyyy More than a 3rd. Given the cash crunch by many teams, easy late first...
2. Johnsson + Kerfoot = Kappy got a 1st and B Prostect. Johnsson alone is less than that sure, Kerfoot is equal or more. So how both go for a 2nd and 3rd is stupid low
3. Holl - Eh i feel again you can get more. maybe a 3rd. Minisota wants home grown folks
4. SImmonds will not take a 1.25x 3 and Dubas would never sign it.

Good,
AP - 1/2 decent but still think the AAV is too low
I like a lot of the signings and would love Jumbo Joe and Spezza back

Signings are great. Trades are pretty bad. A+ for creativity

Like 98% sure you can't offer that much money up front on a Pietrangelo contract

Also not all non-Leafs fans think Dermott is bad, his value is just very low right now

$8m x 7 years isn't going to get Pietrangelo.

If it only takes $56m to get Pietrangelo then that is a $7m AAV for the Blues with the ability to offer eight years. I can't see them not going higher than that. Signing bonuses are part of the picture, but the total value matters as well.
