We aren’t taking on Roussel’s penalties or his extra year.

Yeah Detroit's in no position to trade away one of their few LDs in Danny DeKeyser. And i seriously doubt that he'd waive his full NTC for Vancouver anyways. LD is one of our biggest weakness and we're not moving it for those pieces.

And not to mention it's 0 of a fair trade. Vancouver adds in demko, woo and a 2nd to make it even at this point

What if it was a 7th round pick instead of DeKeyser, would you go for it?

Doubtful, Yzerman will just include one of Erne/Perlini that's his MO

A 7th round pick isn’t going to sway Yzerman one way or another especially when a first round pick would be coming back. A 7th round pick has a 5% of playing 99 games in the NHL.

Gee and imagine Zetterberg beat those odds big time.

Thanks for saying it politely because I was about to let the fur fly. Not interested.

Gee, statistics call that being a few standard deviations out and I’d wager scouting is a bit different this era then when Hank got drafted.

I’d probably do this for the Wings if DD wasn’t involved. He’s our best LD right now and doesn’t carry a ton of value so we’ll keep him.

Did you know 100 games is considered a successful career in the NHL.

That would work for me considering neither of them should be resigned. I'd also be fine giving up a 7th round pick but I like to live on the edge and take risks.

I’d love to see the odds of 300 games but the results are probably laughable outside the first and second round.

Fine, I'd throw in Joulevi. Taking DeKeyser means that the Wings only eat $1M of Eriksson's cap hit, making it easier to sign Virtanen and the addition of Juolevi.
