Dead money for an AHL defenseman and a center who showed nothing last year. Wings will keep Veleno and take chances he is the player he was projected to be.

You’ll be disappointed with that Dallas trade. Fox is a stud but only makes sense if you’re moving Danault imho. Cogs is a quality vet guy, but the offense has dried up. Don’t to that to poor Kotka. Dallas def adds. And it might not work depending on how much Domi is looking for on his next deal. We need that Cogs money coming off for Miro

Veleno = Poehling, but there's no indication at all that he's better than. They're different players, to be sure. Veleno was .43 ppg on the #1 PP in Grand Rapids and Poehling was .34ppg, but spent a lot more time on PK.

That said, the Alzner-Wood thing is just weird. Why on earth would Detroit want to do that? I think most fans don't realize that short of retaining some salary, there's no mechanism for owners to transfer money between themselves. So any team taking Alzner's contract is also taking the obligation to pay him $4.5M a year.

I'm backing up myself cuz I think Danault can be a trade bait if he doesnt want to stay.
