Essentially the players right now with the most potential, making the best team , only rules are they have to be under 25 and I’m not allowed the best player at 25 right now which is MacKinnon (friend made rules). By the way if I’m missing an obvious player like Barzal or Cirelli it’s because for some reason they weren’t showing up on their rosters.
I’d say it’d be pettersson, maybe he might be the best.
Idk, I like Eichel and Matthews over Petty because of their dominance physically. Like MacKinnon and McDavid they are big really big. They can dominate even on nights they aren't scoring with big hits and plays anywhere.
Are these supposed to be in order? Not sure how Pettersson (who is obviously very good) is above Connor when in his 3rd post draft year had less than a ppg when Connor in his 3rd post draft year had 108 points in 82. I get that youre looking ahead... but i cant see it

Eichel just hasn't shown nearly the dominance, wasn’t an elite centre until this year, Matthews is maybe better right now but at the age of 21 pettey was second in Wins Above Replacement, it’s absolutely insane and he had an amazing season last year despite falling off hall feat through, if he repeats this season he’d probably be the best player in the world.
Im the biggest fan of Chabot but he simply hasn’t reached the level of fox Makar or Hughes, despite them being rookies, not Heiskanen or McAvoy yet, as of right now he is better than Dahlin but I think Dahlin has had a slow development but I do believe he will be elite, Chabot needs to show one more season like he had last year
No Laine/Connor/Ehlers? Don’t like Laine because he’s ‘only’ a 40 goal scorer at 20yo?
Laine has fallen off and needs to prove he can Come back and have at least one better Isolated season than Hischier, Connor wad literally pretty bad this year because he was so bad defensively he took away all his offensive value, ehlers is hard because he’s an amazing player but I don’t think he’ll get much better, hischier had the best rookie reason in the analytics era technically, because players like McDavid were injured but he still outperformed laine, he just had a down year in a terrible New Jersey team, he will rebound after two consistent seasons, how much better he gets I do not know but I’m sure he will be somewhat

Because McDavid has fallen off since his sophomore season and I do not see his defensive game improving, pettersson had an elite rookie season and had one of the best this season, enough to make him the best centre, he had the second best impact behind only Panarin and the 4th best expected impact behind only 1. Matthews 2. Marchand And 3. Pastrnak
