Description

Pesce makes sense for a couple of reasons. Letang, while still extremely effective, has been less effective defensively for the last few years. Marino and Pesce on two different pairings can eat up a ton of hard minutes and allow Letang to be maximized.

Pesce and Marino can be the top two RD when Letang leaves in two seasons.

Apparently, what was keeping JJ in the lineup was that they liked that he was big and killed penalties. Ugh.

Well, now you have Pesce on the third pairing and can play Riikola with him.

Canes Pass.

Murray is way too inconsistent to be a center piece for Pesce. We have other McCann-espque players.

Pesce would likely need either Zucker or Guenztel as a starting point. Especially trading him in division when everyone knows Pittsburgh are going to have an internal cap next year. It's a steep price, but it would be the price needed to be paid.
