Rask has a chance to rebound. Helm doesn't.

What even is this, Detroit drafts Lundell at 4 only to trade him for the 9th pick all for the opportunity to swap bottom 6 players? Please tell me I'm wrong

It looks like it's Minny first(lundell) and rask for helm

But he has Lundell on the Wild roster slotted at 2C, acquired from Detroit for Wild 1st. Only plausible scenario is Detroit trading Lundell(4OA) + Helm for 9OA + Rask which is ridiculously bad for Detroit. OP even says Rask has "potential" so that seems to be the case sadly lmao

It's simply drafting Lundell at 9. Why would Detroit take him at 4 when Rossi is on the board?

Man... sometimes a bit of common sense goes a long way.

Helm is better than Rask and only one year left so I’d pass. Lundell is going to be a stud though.

Helm isn't better than Rask. His contract may be better but Rask is 100% the better player. He also has more potential to have a bounce back season at the age of 27.

You can chop it up all you want but when was the last time Rask was good? How many years ago? I don’t care if the guy is 27 and has a slither of a chance to be decent. Helm is superior defensively and will be needed to help ease our young centers in Rasmussen & Veleno. His contract is definitely better than Rask simply because cap space is a gold currency in a flat cap world and tying it up with Rask is bad asset management.

5 goals and 8 assists for rask
9 goals and 7 assists for helm.

Rask 4 for another 2 years
Helm 3.8 for 1 more year.

If you think rask has more value you're out of your mind

Lol what you posted made no sense, and now you've removed it so obviously you agreed. And Lundell is arguably better than Rossi, regardless. neither worth 4OV

Now wouldn't Rask and a 3rd for Helm work? The last couple of seasons they have had almost identical production so the 3rd is for the extra season.

That’s a good thought but I’d rather allocate those funds to a useful player or a pure cap dump and acquire a more premier asset. That approach seems like we’d be half in.

I didn't agree with anything. I simply wanted to show that the Wild draft Lundell at 9 but obviously that was confusing for some people.

Does anyone think Lundell is going at 4OA? Let alone trade up to get him at 4OA when he'll 95% likely be available at 9OA.

3 years ago he was a 45 point player. 2 years ago he was a 30 point player.

You're basically only paying him 4M next year because him and Helm's contracts cancel each other out this year.

I can see your point of view but I honestly don't think this trade is as bad as your making it out to be.
