There's no trade to be made to swap the #1 & #2. NY wants to much. LA won't give up enough. If the Rangers want Byfield, they'll have to select him with the #1 pick.

Nah but it does makes me wish the Rangers had taken Vilardi instead of their second Swedish center behind Pettersson

This trade guts the Kings center depth though, throwing Byfield away (who would become their best center prospect) and Vilardi (their current best center prospect). No point in destroying one position for another. Especially since winning teams are built down the middle.
