Sorry man, but if everyone is telling you something, you might want to open to your ears and listen. It's clear no one thinks this is going to happen. Just move on.

or if you've ever noticed, every leafs thing on this site basically gets shut down regardless of how plausible it is o.o

Nah leafs fans just always play the victim card and only they can make trades/buyout players to become cap compliant. The rest of the league is f*cked.

Why the hell would anyone want Justin holl? He’s a 6th, 7D at best under contract for 3 more years

I mean, sometimes. But the Isles are going to match that offersheet (assuming Pulock signs it). When everyone tells you that, just listen.

Holl is servicible in a bottom pair. Price was cheap and the ducks kind of need a RHD. It's not even horrible lol

Just to jump in on the conversation from a different perspective, the Kings (the team I'm a fan of) would be very interested in Leddy. They'd also be willing to take a player like Komarov with him to offset having to send anything of value to the Islanders.

LA is looking for a vet defenseman to pair with Doughty for the next two years while Bjornfot and Anderson (and to an extent Clague as well) get their feet wet in the NHL. Someone who has experience with tons of minutes, and is a defensively responsible player to let Doughty start playing a more offensive game again. Leddy on a 2 year deal fits that desire exactly. If he's taken by Seattle, its just one year less before Bjornfot has to jump up to Doughty's partner but that's fine with the Kings.

Ducks don’t need bottom pair RHD and holl also has a M NTC

I honestly don’t think LAK would take komarov and Leddy, but isles would trade Leddy (full cap hit) for a 5th or 6th.

@MMXD could it be that your leafs bias is clouding your judgement?

Obviously, but for pulock to actually sign an offersheet with another team, it would probably have to be in the 6.5-7 mill range. Marner wouldn’t sign an offersheet unless it was a crazy overpay , and pulock grew up an isles fan and is close with trotz.

If he did sign an offersheet and for some reason they couldn’t move out salary, they would match and trade him. They can get a better return than a 1st and a 3rd.

I'd be shocked but ecstatic if Leddy could be had for just a 5th or 6th rounder. I think his play is proving he's still worth more than that. And the Kings won't be giving up a 2nd rounder for Leddy, regardless of their needs.

Yeah Leddy has been solid during this playoff run. Made a great pass on pulocks goal last night.

The thing with Leddy is it’s a low risk high reward move. In the last year of his deal, the kings can trade him for a 2nd rd pick to a contender before the deadline.

didn't say he was bad, but no ones taking the 5.5M for him in a flat cap era lol

The Kings will happily take Leddy, even without retention. Additionally, LA isn't trading you that pick back. Sign Clifford to an extension, then that 3rd becomes your property again.

Understood, but the Kings won't trade that pick while it's a possibility. If the Leafs want it back, they'll have to give up a 2nd round pick, either in 2021 or 2022. Otherwise the Kings will just keep it.
