Yeah yeah Laine again

Created by: CallingOutHomers

Description
People love to **** and moan about the Laine to Montreal saying it has to start with Suzuki or KK.

A sub $10.9M offer sheet would yield 2 1sts, a 2nd and a 3rd. The compensation included surpasses that with a roster 2C, an A-level prospect, and picks all this season to allow for stocking of the organization's prospects.

and relieving the salary and cap obligation of Perreault (possible IR, but that does not provide insurance relief, and Covid may impact capacity to pay $4M in salary due 2020-21)
With just under $6M in cap room, it leaves room for additional free Agent signings, or trades, or extending Pionk at the end of the upcoming season.

Start with Suzuki or there is no chance Chevy considers it.

would they match an O/S at 5 years $10.8M with it heavily front loaded with $40M due in the first 3 years, all as signing bonuses to make them lockout guaranteed?

You can't offer sheet a player with a contract. Or are you talking next year?

Hard to say. It would depend what he does this year. I would think they would probably match and not let a player be taken from them, but a lot would depend on his season.

I agree, but the term brings him to 27-28 and UFA status.

he's already expressed his want to leave, and I'm thinking Winnipeg wants an 8 year term then.

Also, Winnipeg is a smaller market (arena capacity, media, etc.) so, front loading might have an impact, and lockout proofing.

going back to the deal, I see it as "controlling several assets for an extended period of time"

and who knows, Tie spent 2.5 seasons in the peg too... maybe he confirms it's an armpit, maybe he says otherwise. tears of joy

Hmmm, so you're making stuff up now? Laine has never, ever said be wanted to leave. Ever.

You'd think he's a lock to make the team and the poster signed all of the Jets other RFA'S but must've missed Harkins somehow.. Lol

Wonder where Maurice uses him next season, hopefully he gets some time at center.

I wouldn’t do Caufield and Domi for Laine straight up. He’s too much of a prima donna who always wants superstar money

You can’t use a math equation to make a trade, jets likely match a 5x10.9 deal like you said. They’d have to move a few other guys but they’d take that over losing him for what that would return. I think you’re close on value, I think if it’s Danault extended over Domi and the 3rd a 2021 2nd and it’s likely done. Jets would 100% be asking for Suzuki or Romanov, but this package is very close. I think you’d be able to get Laine on a 6x8.75 deal pretty easily. Maybe even 7x9.25.

my bad finnish reporters said he was stagnating on that team without a top center.

game of telephone.
