Kings want nothing to do with Russell. They'll take him if compensated, but they'd re-sign Hutton before they even gave up future considerations for Russell.

I'd rather have the cap hit from buying out Flower ($2.5M, $3M, $2M, $2M) than the cap hit of Neal ($5.75M, $5,75M, $5.75M). Not to mention that Neal will be watching from the press box every night. So unless you want to retain on Neal, that trade would be pure silliness from a VGK perspective.

Fair enough, I added this trade because I saw it in some rumor articles, didn't look into it much. Neal is still a player and has some value, I was thinking Vegas might value him more since he has a successful history there and he was okay last year with the Oilers but maybe this doesn't work.

Worth mentioning that Neal's buyout hit is cheaper than Fleury's soooooooo

But yeah, no way that trade happens. Not sure if Edmonton should be looking at running $12M worth of goaltender anyways.

6 years at $1.9M is cheaper than Flower's buyout? One of us needs a new calculator.

Er, cap hit value. The part that matters to the GM not the owner. My bad.
