Bergys Been Busy

Created by: DDoverChucky
Team: 2020-21 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 16, 2020
Published: Sep. 16, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
UFA: Adding needed goal scoring with Hoffman. Haula to add forward depth. Edmundson to bolster left defense. Hainsey to mentor Romanov.

Trade: Move Disappointing Drouin for a bounce back Arvidsson. Ship out Domi for picks.

All in all I added a much needed scoring line besides the Tatar-Danault-Gallagher line. The defense is also deeper. Before you say Hoffman contract will be a problem, there's lots of money coming off after 1 year.

I doubt that gets us Arvidsson, especially since he’s cheaper and actually produces. Drouin+Poehling

Ok, you’re either being a huge homer or haven’t seen Arvidsson play

They have similar production over their careers. Arvidsson: 214 P in 335 GP.... Drouin 209 P in 349 GP

He’s 2 years older and seems to Ben in decline already
And he’s a Smurf... Habs already have enough small players like Gallagher and Byron plus Caufield is on the way
28 points in 57 games for Arv, not good
Drouin finally has a talented C to feed off with Susuki, they had chemistry in playoffs

Arvidsson is a 30 goal scorer. Drouin is most definitely not.

Drouin is younger, with room to grow (possibly). Arvidsson dropped to 15 goals this season, maybe Nashville thinks he's peaked.

How is he in a decline? Just last year he had 34 goals in 58 games and this year he had back injury because of a cheap shot and his speed easing there when he came back.

Domi has broken 20 goals once in five seasons, but I'm not sure what bringing up two random players no one was discussing here accomplishes.

Drouin's not a prospect anymore, I'm not sure how much growth can be expected at this point. Aside from NSH as a whole having a rough season, Arvidsson's numbers were mainly a result of getting gooned by Bortuzzo, then playing hurt after he returned. He was healthy and back to his old self in the play-in round.

Aside from Arvidsson just being straight up much better than Drouin, Arvi's bargain contract adds a lot to his value. The OP's just not remotely close to getting NSH to think about trading Arvidsson.

If kappanen can land a 1st than Domi is worth a 1st + at least

You can think Arvidsson is better than I think he is, but the fact is their career production is very close to each other

I don't think so. Kapanen was just an overpayment from PIT

Watching Arvidsson play might give you a better idea of his value, than just looking at point totals.

It was overpayment but Domi is still worth more. He was a first round pick himself and is just scratching his prime now. He’d be a decent 2C for a lot of teams. Just have to find the right partner. I think Winnipeg would do well to get him

Nashville need scoring, not a selfish, lazy player who doesn't apply him self.
Forget that Domi trade, that would be a big win for Buffalo. If you're going to send Domi to a division rival, then at least package him for the 8th overall pick. Otherwise, he is going to the west.
