Description
Thats what i think a realistic offseason could look like for the habs. For the record I wouldn't sign Edmundson as I think he won't be worth his AAV but if he signs I hope it's for only 2 years.

As for the Domi-Tuch trade, i really believe that a swap would be beneficial for both teams as both players are looking to play top-6 minutes but are behind better-suited options. Domi could easily step in as Vegas' 1C or 2C while Tuch would also play RW on the first or second line. Although I think their intrinsic value as players is similar, I added to Domi because of Tuch's contract.

I'm a Habs fan. Tuch's contract is one of the top contracts in the whole league. They will want A TON MORE !
Domi, Jordan Harris, a 1st and a 2nd round pick and with that, they start listening. I'm not kidding.
6 years of Tuch at under 5M AAV ???

Yes it's a great contract if he plays like he has in the playoffs. However if you look at his stats in the last 3 seasons, is he really worth 5M right now? I'd say it's a similar situation with Domi. If he signs for 5.5M, which is what he is worth right now, he would become a bargain if he plays up to his skill level (see last season). The package you described is much more fitting of a base for a Laine trade than a Tuch trade.

Fair enough! You don't think Domi could play C between Patch-Stone or Marchessault-Smith? Or do you think Danault would be a better fit?

I hear ya my friend. I just think that in today's NHL, players are more player-contracts. And Tuch with his 6 year contract is extremely valuable.

he could but that would leave vegas with too many pure playmakers and no scoring

domi would be fantastic with stone and pacioretty imo, but given the cost controlled aspect of tuch's contract and style of play idk if it makes sense

I like the idea but it wouldn't make a lot of sense given vegas' position rn - they have a looot of problems finishing rn, and i don't think either of them would be a perfect fit
