A small trade I’ve thrown around a few times that people seem to like on both sides is Paq for LGD (Det) with 50% retained. Det get a 4th line upgrade offensively and TB sheds $900,000 while getting a solid penalty killer and FO man (55+%)

TB is not getting Cirelli or Serg for $4.25 or less...

Sneaky Avs trade. But Avs would rather just send TBL a better pick and take Kovalenko out of the deal.

Not for 3 years, no way. I think there are probably a number of teams that would give both of them close to $6M on an OS

I can 100% see Sergachev taking the Klingberg contract at 3 years. Very comparable player.

Not... so... fast. I'm not certain everyone feels as charitable towards TB as the O.P. seems to think. These are all of the overpays TB got themselves into trouble with and I'm not helping them out; I'm gonna take advantage. Johnson is in a demonstrated decline at 30 years old and 4 years left at $5 mil per. Shades of James Neal! No, I think Imma offer sheet Sergachev and once TB matches, Imma offer sheet Cirelli. How now, Brisebois? Match Cirelli and I'll offer Monahan, Kylington, Pelletier + for Point..?

Maybe I'm dreaming but so are all of the other posters on this board.

Cernak is probably getting a 1 year deal for less. 1M - 1.5M x 1 year.

Might need to give Cirelli a 2 year deal to have him sign cheaper. Something like what Zibanijad did. Maybe 3.75 x 2

I really want to keep the 1st and 3rd lines together but moving out both TyJo and Killorn leaves a hole on the 2nd line. Do you think Volkov is ready to step into that spot? Maybe one of the other prospects? regardless either the 3rd line breaks up or someone has to take that step on a very cheap contract.

Resign Schenn to a league min contract again

EW has Bogo signing for 1M exactly so don't overpay him.

Paquette can probably get more, especially after we get a ring wink
There will be a bidding war for him since he's cheap and reliable. 3rd maybe?

Flames accept that, make it a 3rd and they still probably do.

Not sure what to do with Coburn, Maybe Dallas? he's likely a better option than Hanley and Sekera on the 3rd pair.

As a Flames fan I take that deal in a heartbeat. Look at what happened with Miller in Vancouver. Tampa's trash is treasures to most other teams around the league. Plus good business relations are much more important than you give them credit for

TyJo is still a pretty decent player, he's worth a 2nd or 3rd still probably. Joseph is young, cheap, can play bottom 6 minutes now, and has decent upside. We're basically getting both for free, this is a clear win.

Klingberg signed his contract (7years x 4.25) after one year of professional play with 65 games and 40pts when the salary cap was 69million. So, with inflation, that $4.25 or 6.15% C.H. would be about $5.15 with today’s cap. And that doesn’t take into account that Serg has played in 150ish more games.

So, agree to disagree, I don’t really care. But humor me for a sec; I have a couple questions I’ve been meaning to ask TB fans. If you had to Choose only one of Serg or Cirelli going forward, who would you pick? And next, would y’all ever consider trading Stammer in order to get out of Cap purgatory and still recoup some assets (I assume even with the injury history, he’d fetch at least 1 1st rounder and prob a good prospect)?

That's why its a bridge deal and not a 6 year deal like Provorov got. The best comparable's to Sergachev are McAvoy and Werenski, who signed 3 year bridge deals of 4.9m and 5M just last year. Both players are better than Sergachev though. This means that Sergachev, if he were to sign a 3 year deal last year (and were on either of those teams) would probably get a 4.5M - 4.75M contract.. With the frozen cap as well as a lot of teams setting an internal cap it is highly expected that a lot of players will be signing for less than last years market value (ie. Taylor Hall is not getting anywhere near the Panarin contract and probably closer to 8M). Furthermore, Tampa is in Florida where there is no state tax. That can also have an effect on his pay. To clarify I will do some math using McAvoy as an example. Last year McAvoy's estimated Tax Rate was about 29.39% playing with the Bruins, if he played for Tampa that Rate would be ~25.94%. This works out to a cap hit of about 4.672M in Tampa. Now factoring in the things I said above about McAvoy being the clear better player as well as the unexpected flat cap i think a cap hit of 4.25m x 3yrs is totally reasonable. Especially if he wants to take more of a team friendly deal. I can also do the reverse to see what 4.25M would work out to in Boston. About 4.46M

As for your questions.
1. Cirelli > Sergachev
2. Cap purgatory is a funny word to use since it describes a good problem to have. No we wouldn't trade Stamkos, he is an excellent leader and the heart of the team. He would also get a massive return despite his injuries
