Description

Ottawa won't take on any more salary than needed. Eugene can't afford it. Bonus' were barely paid on time. Staff pay has been cut. Teams are in the red. Ottawa is on the hot seat and with no guaranteed gate revenue, it is likely we see the bare minimum in terms of on ice money.

Again.

The only deals I see going down are for players that make a lot less than their cap hit and their signing bonus has already been paid, or for insured players that are LTIRetired. Ottawa has enough in house contracts that they can reach the floor without deals from other teams.

Yes. But, I have Raymond over Sanderson. Sanderson can jump right into an NHL game and not look out of place. Drysdale will take a year or two to start looking like an NHL defenseman. Sanderson reminds me a lot of Suter in his prime. Just an minute muncher and super safe, LHD. With Boro gone, I think the #5-6 LHD spot is either Sanderson or Wolanin.

Of course. I'm saying the same thing. Raymond and Byfield if available. I just think Sanderson isn't the worst option at 5. Its a better option than Drysdale, IMO.

I'm really not sold on Rossi. I think it'd be a mistake if they take him at 5. Perfetti has grown on me. But I think Detroit has a him at 4.

Yeah unfortunately I have also heard the situation for the sens is pretty dire lol. I did read from Seravalli, that almost half the league was on reduced pay however so its at least a sign that it's not just us. Pierre McGuire on TSN690 did say that he wouldn't be surprised if there were a few teams that were to change ownership this offseason so we can at least have hope. But yeah I'm much more okay with taking 2 forwards this year and defense next.
