Description

According to our beat writer, "Two teams believed to be hot after Dumba are the Winnipeg Jets and Vancouver Canucks, but the Toronto Maple Leafs and Tampa Bay Lightning also have right-shot defenseman needs". LeBrun also echoed the Winnipeg interest on TSN.

Personally, I don't really think either team is a fit in a Dumba deal. We need a center and neither have good enough centers to give (Jets aren't trading Scheifele and the Canucks aren't trading Pettersson or Horvat). With that in mind, here are two deals revolving around Dumba for wingers.

That’s too much offence leaving Vancouver. Only way it works is Boesser for Dumba straight up or draft picks to even out

As great as Boeser and Ehlers are, we are still log jammed at wing and light at C. I have to think the Wild would prefer 10 OA and Roslovic for Dumba. That seems like a more feasible base package given what we could do with it. As far as Vancouver, I think it would be Gaudette and let Brackett pick his favorite pieces. Neither are runaway no brainers anyway we slice it, Dumba could very well be a draft day deal.

Donato is no slouch offensively, he scored 14 goals averaging under 11 minutes per game since he was in Boudreau's dog house for no reason at all. But I get it, you're losing two quality forwards here so it may not make the most sense.

If that’s the price for Dumba then I don’t think the Jets should do that. Ehlers is extremely valuable on our team

Does it have to be Ehlers or could it be Roslovic and a 1st?
As far as the Canucks deal what is Gaudettes ceiling?

If I recall correctly, heard this on TSN VAN radio awhile back, Craig Button said he COULD turn into a regular 60-70 point 2nd line center. May have had 60 but pretty sure it was 60-70.

I don't think Ehlers fits. My guess is people heard Dumba connected to the Jets and then connected that to the rumor Ehlers was on the block. I don't think it fits for the Wild and I would put my money on Laine moving if the Jets are gonna move one of their wingers.
