Vrana for Bjork

Created by: markykins1
Team: 2020-21 Washington Capitals
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 17, 2020
Published: Sep. 17, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
ultimately to make room for OVI contract rumored to be between 10-12 million per. Something like this could be done if we can't do a salary dump (or two) at the draft. Bruins get 20+ goal scoring lightning fast Vrana for still developing scorer and cap room. 2nd rounder added in as Bjork is still more unproven than Vrana.

Are you serious tears of joy If we have money to sign Vrana next year, I would 110% do it.

That'd be a very bad move for the Caps.

No from the Caps. Vrana is a legit top 6 forward, Bjork might be that but right now is a third liner.

Ok. Can someone tell me if Bjork could be top 6 soon or not?

Thanks for the answer. That's what I was looking for. Hope the Caps can move salary at the draft instead but it will cost them...(to make room for new OVI contract).

I ain't that optimistic.

I'm almost 100% certain though that he'll never become even close the player Vrana could become.

He's become a more rounded player and better defensively than offensively. I still think he's got some top6 potential but more likely a two-way middle-six winger who can produces 30-40 pts IMO
But Vrana is the better player now and is likely to remain the better offensive player; Bjork better defensively.

Ya Boston would be nuts not to take this deal and run as fast as possible. Vrana has similar production to DeBrusk over the last 3 years while averaging less TOI. He's also scored roughly 95% of his goals as ES, while DeBrusk has scored around 73% of his goals at ES. Vrana would help Boston's lack of secondary scoring and ES scoring.

They might not be able to resign him if OVI gets 12 million per year (10-12 is rumored) so get a close in age cost controlled player that might blossom also. I wanted to also ask for Matt Gryzlick but Boston fans would probably freak out...

If moving Vrana is what it costs to keep Ovi, Ovi can go lol

I'm just hoping (of course) it doesn't come to that. McClellan will probably try to trade a contract or two at the draft.

Grzelcyk* and with Krug likely leaving, he won't be available. If Bruins acquire a better D and want to protect that D with McAvoy and Carlo next year, maybe Grzelcyk could move next year. As of now, if Krug doesn't re-signs, he isn't available.

But Grzelcyk for Vrana would probably be a lot closer than Bjork for Vrana.

I mean, it’s not THAT crazy. Every team has their own scouts. If they think Bjork is going to be really good, maybe this is the kind of thing they’re looking for, but i definitely think another piece would be needed.
