It has been closed for a while now.

Time to burn it all down.

Sharks need to expose one of Burns, Vlasic or EK in the Seattle draft.

Jesus.... look at the term left on that aging D core top four. My God!

Oilers fans just assume everyone is always rebuilding since that is what their hapless org has been doing for the better part of 15 years now.

I don’t think their window is closed quite yet ... mind you it’s not that far off. Adding these shorter term contracts is an attempt to pry it open for one more year. Bringing in Cup winners/ playoff vets like Perry and Maroon is a huge part of that. If they don’t get it done this season then maybe they can expose a player to the Expansion Draft. Since they have these players signed for long term deals I think they will have another go with that group.

People are too easy to write off teams. I think this playoff showed that it really doesn't matter which team is "better".

SJs current window is not ideal for the times but man if their vets have a mini resurgence, they can beat anyone. I dont think they will but its not impossible for them to get hot at the right time.

I think the Sharks will protect the following:
Vlasic
Karlsson
Burns - I’d keep him even if he’s older and expensive.

Couture
Labanc
Hertl
Kane
Meïer
Fast
Gambrell

Jones - unless he craps out again.

I’m sure that SJ tanked last year because of the beating they took from the Blues in the WCF. Now that they’ve been off since March and won’t play again until December (?) I think they have huge potential for a resurgence. Especially EK and Martin Jones.

I think true will be better than gambrell this year, and Kellman as well so protect either of them. We likely leave Jones exposed and protect whoever we sign this offseason as a UFA goalie, and it’s Burns or Simek but likely burns
