No thanks. If we trade Laine for a defenseman it has to be a similar age, guaranteed top pairing guy. Think Hieskanen, Makar, Hughes, Dahlin. Not saying he’s got the same value necessarily as those guys, but that’s the only type of player I’d trade him for

Personally I wouldn’t do a trade like this, because OEL is declining and his contract isn’t very good. Though yes I don’t understand why jets fans rate Laine so highly because frankly, he really isn’t all that great besides banging pucks in the net (you would know as a stars fan lol) but like the Montreal trades of like an extended Danault, Fleury, and two firsts I accept easily lol
