Can’t see the bruins trading a cost controlled young RHD for 1 year of Kyle Palmieri. It creates a bigger problem than it solves

Even then, youd have to think about it. Palmieri with one year left... Top 4 D would be very very light

Eriksson+Boeser isn't returning no 1st and 4th round pick, And Palmieri+2nd+3rd round pick isn't getting you Brandon Carlo either. Both Boeser and Carlo are pipedreams.

What? The bruins? they would not do either of those. Carlo is an young, cost controlled, right handed de with potential to be a top 5 shut down guy and currently sits, IMO, in the top ten dfd

Palmieri only has one year left. If he has an extension, we could start discussing. But like that, no thanks.

Bruins are about to lose Krug, if they don't get a top4 LD and then trade Carlo; we've lost the whole second pair and nobody can take that spot. So it's not happening for a rental. It would have to be for an RW with term. Again, I would still not move Carlo.

HeadHighSauce, welcome.

I don't think NJD has to add much to taking Eriksson for Boeser, certainly not a 1st. So NJD would decline that one. I do think NJD would target Jake Virtanen however...at lower cost.

Carlo for Palmieri straight-up would be a reach. I don't think BOS would add picks to that deal. If any modifications, it would be NJD retaining salary on final year of Palmieri's current contract. And it would probably only happen is Palmieri resigns in Boston.

Carlo already is a real good player. I mean yes a top 7 pick in this draft will help, but it will help two years from now. The bruins need to win next year or this core will go down as the biggest disappointment of a core in Boston sports history, and will be up there with others in nhl history.

I dont disagree but it has to make you think... Raymond/Holtz/Perfetti/Sanderson at 7 could be game breakers. For the time being you keep him, but its not an automatic no for me at least.

oh not for me either. Its worht contemplation but right now its a no. If the bruins has won the cup in 2019, and then last like they did this year, I think you see a VERY different offseason approach this year. Guys like krecji and rask would be getting shopped around, chara would retire, guys like debrusk would be moved for futures.

Did I use it wrong? I thought I added to the deal. Palms, 2nd, 3rd. for Carlo

It would have to come with an extension of course

I get what youre saying... but thankfully im not the GM cause that one would be tough to make a decision on for me! See both sides, Carlo leaving would create a massive hole on the back end, but if you can resign Palms at a reasonable number and get #7 overall, you could be getting 2 very solid players for the price of 1. BUT the top 6 on D would be very very bare. But good thoughts, conversation, who knows whats gonna happen!
