not the Letang to MTL trade I was expecting.

We could do it... but I don't see why. Petey and Weber make a pretty decent 1-2 punch at RD. We weakened the LD to upgrade the RD.

Reports came out today that MTL is shopping Ben Chiarot, Mete, and Kulak. They just signed Edmundson.
Youd have to think:

Romanov- Weber
Edmundson- Letang
Mete-Kulak

or if they go to free agency and get someone else

They are not shopping Chariot for sure... he was a stud with Weber this year. They might shop Kulak or Mete. But not before training camp to see who will take the third pair. Or the pressbox spot.

Rust would be interesting. It's hard to pin down his value though after this season. Career year at a P/GP but also had a high S% and very offensive usage. Over 85% of his ES TOI was with Crosby or Malkin, so I think he will regress on the Avs unless he's on Mackinnons line.

yeah he could be a solid addition. Im just saying I wouldnt expect him to continue at a P/GP pace on the Avs. If he can produce 60ish points over 82 games on the 2nd line with similar PP time to what hes getting right now, then that could be very appealing for COL. Good contract too

He can play in middle 6 really nice. If Avs get Hall, Rust can bump down which still contribute.
