While a first-rounder is enticing, that's not a great use of Columbus's most attractive asset, so it's probably a no from us. If Korpisalo gets moved (alone or as part of a package), there has to be a top-6 scoring forward (preferably a 2C) coming back the other way.

I have no idea who says yes/no but you don't look like a crazy person which is no small feat on this site tears of joy

Goalie trade value is always crazy - such a volatile yet important position. I see why you're giving a first because it looks like he could be starter at a cheap AAV, but I feel like Korpi isn't the guy. Not an improvement over Freddy IMO. I wouldn't give that much up for a goalie personally but the roster fits under cap and doesn't look like trash (except for the walking trash can Corey Perry).

I know we could be on his short list but it makes 0 sense for us. He is gonna cost over 8mill and honestly I would rather divide that money between 2 UFA defenseman (Hamonic + Demelo)

I see 4 teams in on him

1. Vegas
2. Colorado
3. Calgary
4. Winnipeg

lets see what happens

Retaining $2M on Bonino, and having to take Kerfoot too? NSH declines.

If Pietrangelo hits the market then the Leafs are likely going to have to give him an AAV over $9m for him to sign.

I would not rather Hamonic and Demelo, at all.

Petro is literally everything that we need in a defenceman right now. I think Dermott is ready to play with Muzzin. I think Hamonic would decline much sooner than Petro. If you look at D that are somewhat comparable to Petro everyone says "he's going to decline any day now" and only ends up majorly declining at about 36/37

in general an article came out where it stated Columbus would only consider moving either goalie for a top 6 wing that can score 20+ goals (I.e Boeser, Nylander, Debrincat, etc).

I 100% agree.
We just not in position salary wise to add Pietrangelo.

I want Cernak badly but not sure how to execute that beyond a offer sheet.
And Matt Roy just makes a ton of sense for cap reasons.

That or a 2C, yeah. And given that he's finally healthy, Josh Anderson is a wing who fits the bill there, and we've got his RFA rights for a lot cheaper than Boeser/Willy/Cat. So the focus HAS to be on a 2C.

honestly I made a post a while ago and surprisingly was able to make the following dcore

Rielly-Hamonic (4 mill x 4 years)
Muzzin-Demelo (3.5mill x 4 years)
Lehtonen-Holl

and cap wise we had 500k in space and the big 4 didnt need to be moved. I like it as both guys bring flare, aggression, and Hamonic and protect rielly. Braun is another good choice as he helped Philly improve defensively this season.

Cernak is also a good choice, Roy is also for cap reasons but I am not 100% confident in him but could be proven wrong

I am hesitant to go the UFA route, think about.
How many times do teams dip into the UFA market and come out ahead afterwards???

I mainly did it as so far for trade with our 1st pick all will cost an arm and a leg (Parayko, Pulock, Ellis, etc.). Hamonic and Demelo wont cost the leafs any picks allowing them to draft Schneider or something and invest into the future. Or like tampa use him as a trade chip.

I feel were gonna end up with a big dman but as to who and how he is obtained no idea.

there okay but Hyman and Mikheyev are gonna be key members of this team going forward. Mikheyev despite the injury was very good and honestly I see him bouncing back next season. His offense and defense were good which was one of the reasons Johnsson and Kapenan became expendable other than the flat cap issue. Hyman brings something to this team that cant be easily be replaced. He bleeds blue and white and will be a leaf till the day he retires.

Its not bad but I see Dubas keeping freddie unless a really good deal comes his way and moving the first for a top RHD as to who its gonna be no idea.

Probably fair value on Johnsson but Pittsburgh doesn't need LW, better fit for a team that needs offensive help

Ok I understand what your saying, but hear me out.

I kept Johnsson on the team and I feel he can fit will on the 1st or 2nd and is capable of playing a style that blend well.

A new deal for Hyman is probably gonna be 4+ million, simply put, we cant afford it, I fully agree he brings something that other players on this team dont, insert Kempe... I feel he can fit well and plays the same style.

Andersen is the last year of his deal with only 1 million left to pay, I dont see how we can extend him.
Kuemper is solid goalie and is one of the few goalies I'd go with to replace Andersen with.

Mikheyev I like but you gotta give to get and I feel he along with 1st rounder is an acceptable cost when adding a goalie with term along with adding a solid defensive guy to the team.
