Also Lehner wouldn't have played here if we kept the pick that turned into Colin White

You also forget the part where we don't mess around with Moulson and Halak and just kept our good assets like Pommer and Miller

I agree with the premise, but you all make good points as well.
Just take Murray out of the picture, draft a little better and see what develops instead of rushing the rebuild.
Just give me Zadorov, Myers, Armia, Compher, McNaab multiple first round picks, multiple second round picks traded away by DATM.
Better drafting Draisaitl over Reinhart and Sergachev over Nylander (I know we do not have Jokiharju then) I would most likely also not have Dahlin.
But with better drafting maybe we get Sebastian Aho with the 2016 2nd round pick
I could keep Skinner, Miller, Jokiharju (or Sergachev as I have in my line up), Montour and Kahun as they were all acquired with easily imagined assets.

Skinner Eichel Armia
Olofsson Draisaitl Roslovic
Kahun Girgensons White (neither Ennis nor Foligno would have been traded)
Foligno Larsson Compher
Lazar, Ennis

McCabe Ristolainen
Sergachev Montour
McNaab Myers
Miller

BTW did any one listen to the O'Reilly last interview?
How he gave up from the get go and was looking forward to playing in Europe?
Just curious did any one watch how hard he played for St Louis this year.
Please remind me how often we got to the playoffs with him as our #2 center.
Please remind me how many awards he earned because he played so well for Buffalo.

That is my rant of the day.
watch for my rant tomorrow.

Off the topic, but Adams pulled a rabbit out of the hat.
Staal is a legitimate 2A/1B center.
Great trade.
Erik centered for Jeff when Skinner had 33 goals for Carolina.
Great trade, my hats off to Kevyn.

Don't get toooo excited about Staal.

You didn't trade for the 29-31 year old Staal that centred Skinner. You traded for the 35 year old Staal

He's a borderline hall of famer who still seems to have some in the tank but he has declined a reasonable amount.
