Going for playoff success - Meier to MTL

Created by: yikes
Team: 2020-21 San Jose Sharks
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 17, 2020
Published: Sep. 17, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
*not my path of choice*
I would rather see a rebuild rather than a retool but that’s not in the Sharks GM/ Ownership DNA; so here the Sharks go for it: simple moves but with the intent of success rather than competing.

I think Danault for Meier is a good trade idk on the exact values

Danault- a top 5 delle trophy winner/2nd line centre. Vs timo Meier. A guy who’s had one good season. We’ll pass. Unless u wanna do meier for just the first but even in that case we’ll keep our pick and draft a young stud

I mean the fact you’d waive off Meier for just a single first is kinda laughable so I won’t argue lol. Have a good one.

Columbus declines. We've already got like 9 bottom-6 forwards, and Sorensen isn't useful to us. Plus, that 4th-rounder is our first pick after the first round, so don't see us trading it to lengthen that wait.

I just used a team I could see Sorensen being on but understandable opinion you mention

Danault would need to come with an extension.

I'd say Danault and Meier are close in value, however based on Danault's contract situation i'd probably add at least a second, or Poehling. I think Bergevin would much rather add a second+ or Poehling rather than give up 16th since we need quality more than quantity in prospects. How likely is it that Meier is traded according to you?

i would have considered it if Timo was a RH winger.

We have too many lefties in MTL.

Very unlikely before TDL, if the Sharks are floundering again (if they attempt to compete which is100% likely) they likely will be big sellers, much bigger than last TDL. Either Doug is fired or told he has to rebuild. At that point if this becomes the outcome the Sharks likely trade Burns, Meier. Hear offers on Couture and Kane and then try to move Vlasic or at least see if anyone would even take him.

Hey man Im not trying to sound dumb I just don't like it when fans become so biased abt the value of their players that they say "you don't know what you're talking about". I literally want to pursue hockey personnel/offices as a career so I know exactly what Im talking about. Trust me when I say I know the damn market for players better than anyone else out there my age

Says the Montreal fan. You think 16th overall is an overpay for Meier lol, good luck getting a job.

umm yes says me. How much do u think Meier is worth lmao. He got 49 points this year, 66 last year. A first is sufficient enough. Max domi and him put up the same numbers overall and he's worth a bit more since he's younger I believe and plays centre. I know my stuff Klara have a great day

"facts" a 23 year old power forward who put 30G 66P a year ago, regressed slightly to be on pace for 55 points (in same # games from last year) would get less than Kasperi Kapanen. lol

"How am I arrogant, I know my stuff lol."
exactly what an arrogant person would say
lets see,
"I literally want to pursue hockey personnel/offices as a career so I know exactly what Im talking about. Trust me when I say I know the damn market for players better than anyone else out there my age"
"I know my stuff" x2
Textbook, LOOK AT ME, I'M GOOD, ANYTHING I SAY IS TRUE!

Go back to playing NHL 20.

I mean weird flex cause that’s also my career path; sports, no cares no one asked. Just because you think you know your stuff doesn’t mean you do. Egos don’t go far in life and in sports or any business...

Be open, discuss, don’t think you’re right, ask questions, hear opinions...

You could be right or you could be wrong. Doesn’t mean you cant learn something or discuss something.

Hope this comment helps

EVEN if you’re right, ask questions and listen.

I really don’t have an ego whatsoever if u knew me lol. Check out my yt u can see the way I talk I’m so shy and I just know my stuff. Big egos and confidence/knowledge are different things. I just don’t like ppl who think they know stuff when they don’t, aka biased fans
