I’d think minny would want more than just a first as that’s all this offer really is. Kerfoot is more of just a decent third liner who’s costing “alot”. Engvall about the same level and Marincin is just there

You forgot to add nylander. Only way it even gets considered.

Update: oh wow you didn’t even add the 15th overall? That’s precious. Cmon bud. Make the trade at least quasi reasonable, and fill out the roster before hitting publish on this junk.

I can see Minnesota considering Dumba+ for Nylander. Aside from that, I don't see any reasonable Dumba to Toronto trade that could get done.

That is a very, very bad offer for Dumba. So Guerin probably takes it, based on how well he did with the Staal trade.

We do not need Dumba. Basically Tyson Barrie but hits and fights occasionally. We need a defensive Dman

Dumba for Holl would probs be the trade and his excuse. We traded for Holl because hes from Minnesota

I'm 99% against getting Dumba (as he's not the Dman Leafs need) but I'd be all over that move (Minny not so much).

Wow that's a really thoughtful offer, you just scooped out the latrine and topped it off with a likely late 1st rounder, and then you want something nice in return.

Rest of his trades look good so far. The PIT pick could be a lotto pick and Addison looked like our best defenseman at certain points during the play-in scrimmages. Also nabbed Bjugstad for a conditional 7th.

The more I look at trade the more I understand it. Staal obviously put the 10 teams he thought had the most interest in him on his no trade. Since Guerin knew Staal no longer fit with his lack of speed, his value was only going to drop. So Guerin knowing he had to get something for him he took the best offer.

Yeah, not saying he has been a bad GM. But that Staal trade was a farce.

I may be in the minority, but I didn’t hate the move from the Wild perspective as most people do. This trade allows the Wild to get younger, faster, and force younger guys into accountability. For too long the organization has leaned way too hard on veterans at the tail end of their primes or on the decline. It’s time for the Greenways, Kunins, and Eriksson Eks to take that next step in their careers.

Î think he could've gotten a lot better package than a 29-year old pending UFA honestly. The guy is dirt cheap and constantly putting 50 point seasons to the table. Contender would've paid a huge price for a guy like that near the deadline.

Yeah that's the real issue I see with the trade. Johansson intrigues me, but much like Granny for Fiala we should have been able to get more.

There’s no way to prove that though. Sure, the Wild could have traded Staal last year to Boston for Kuraly and a 1st, but that was also a year ago and Bill Guerin wasn’t even the GM. It’s more of a culture move than a hockey move in my opinion.

I guess you can't prove it but at its face value Staal is clearly the better player and he's cheaper. Is he older and on the decline? Sure, but I still think he'll score 50+ points next season, especially when Eichel will draw the tougher defensive match ups for Buffalo.

I think Staal could put up 50 points next to Jeff Skinner.

In fairness, the leafs might be bad enough for that pick to turn out pretty good.
