Description
Big downgrade in net, bigger downgrade in the top 6, but an unreal upgrade on defense. CAR trade could also include a pick or prospect (2nd or SDA?). Johnsson could really go anywhere for a 3rd as he is paid a million less than his cap hit, strictly a cap move to sign a goalie.

Just realized, there is no less than 8 players on this roster that are unproven in the NHL. :/ So obviously unrealitic, but fun to see if the value for some of these trades fit.

Trade Nylander for someone with term. A lot to give up for one year of Hamilton and you won’t be able to afford him the following season.

For1x2.9 Tor ACGMs can stop trading Andersen to Calgary for their 1st. They'll sign Talbot.

Why is Andersen always traded to a team with 2 starting goalies?? Carolina Colorado etc??? Is he really that bad that he should be in the press box watching????

Barabanov, Robertson, Geekie (10 games in the NHL), Hallinder, Brooks, Lilly, Lehtonen and arguably Soup (about 40 games is a small sample size).

It's been rumored from some media outlets that CAR has interest in Andersen.

I don't like Johnsson, or his contract, but for a 3rd round pick... Ottawa would consider this for sure.

Year one of Matthews, the Leafs iced as many as 9 rookies. And made the playoffs.

Andersen is only owed $1 MIL real dollars this year and has a cap hit of $5 MIL so if a team was short on cash but needed the cap hit he is perfect. Signing another goalie comparable to Andersen is going to cost a team millions more than $1 MIL in real cash next season.

This ACGM just signed one for 2.9 mil cash and cap. Saving over 2 mil in cap. For a lot of teams the cap is as, more, important.

Carolina takes on ~12 mil in cap for ~ 6.5. And get a 3rd goalie. And Toronto only gets Pietrangelo if Minn and Ottawa feel generous...
