Description

Flat cap might mean short term, less money deals for Dermott, Rodrigues, and Mikheyev.

Lehtonen is looking good, and Lilypad needs some NHL experience under his belt. If Demelo or someone else cheap is available that’d help a ton, but that’d mean Johnsson or Kerfoot coming out- and neither of their values are especially high right now lol. I also think Johnsson rebounds and gets back to mid 30s to low 40s, could be a valuable piece.

I think we start the season relatively boring trade-wise but acquire someone before the trade deadline if the D experiment doesn’t work. The cost to acquire a top pairing D now is probably more than we’re willing to pay.

Cycle the bottom pairing D and bottom 6 wingers as they get hot and cold.

I think he needs more time- the skill is obviously there but I think he needs to grow and develop like Liljegren- he took time to grow into his frame.

He plays RW most of the time, I really liked the Hyman - Matthews - Nylander line in the past.

I don't think signing Demelo means you have to trade someone. You can afford one dman. Anything more then yes you probably have to trade someone.

I would think the Leafs would trade Johnson....even for a 7th rounder and clear 3.4m of cap space, if meant they could sign DeMelo.

That D Core will get ruined.

Might be a team that does not make playoffs and a step backwards

There’s only 500,000 in cap space with a 23 man roster -Johnsson or Kerfoot would have to move to sign Demelo.

Sandin's in a different class than Liljgren.

Sandin's gonna be a 2/3D. Liljegren will be a 4/5D.
