Rebuild For Fun

Created by: HatterTParty
Team: 2020-21 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 17, 2020
Published: Sep. 17, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Just a scenario where Kane and toews ask to leave and the hawks fire Colliton for gallant. Just for fun. Also, in this scenario, the hawks suffer for one more season, which explains taking on Lundqvist from NYR. Love to see us get Owen power next year.

Also, before anyone criticized the left side of defense, again, one more down year, then Robertson, beaudin, and in this scenario, power, come in. Saad is traded at the deadline next year for another first.

That goalie tandem is Expensive and Not good, my question is
You could get more for Kane
Toews May or may not be to much,
Nylander that cheap
Greenway might cost more, yet again I’ve never heard Barrett
Rest is ight

Okay, from the top:

1. Goalie tandem is definitely weak and only meant to serve for a year. Fleury is still pretty damn good, and I forgot to mention one of the 1st rounders this year would be used on askarov.

2. Kane’s trade was iffy, cuz tuch and Krebs have big value, and as I emphasized in the first point, fleury does still have value. Add the 1st and a 3rd and I kinda feel like it evens out a little.

3. With toews, it’s really all about who you ask. Hawks fans say he’s worth a ton still, and other fans say not so much. I kinda compromised by sending him to New York who needs a center and are winger heavy.

4. Nylander is simply down to my perception of him. I’m not a fan. Also, getting back that particular 3rd rounder enabled me to do the cirelli offer sheet. So really it’s nylander for cirelli 👍

5. Greenway is based on Wild fans saying a big issue is his commitment. He’s still worth a good deal and minny needs centers. Barratt is one of our better center prospects, probably fringe 2C projection at absolute best, most likely 3C. That’s why the 3rd rounder is there.

Maybe, but a 1st and 3rd gets it going. Fleury still has a lot of value, so long as walsh shuts his mouth. Then there’s tuch, who is very good and was fantastic in these playoffs with his prime coming up. Then there’s Krebs, who’s Vegas’ best center prospect.

Cody Glass is ok too.

And can’t use traded picks on offer sheets

I’d do that, but I need nylander to get our 3rd back from Montreal for the cirelli offer sheet, lol.

Unfortunately you can’t. It has to be your own picks.

I don’t actually count glass as a prospect because he’s in the nhl now, albeit was injured for a while.

That is what I was saying. Cannot use a traded pick in offer sheet (even if was originally your teams pick).

Yeah, thing is Kane still has it, Tuch and Krebs are decent, but they combined ain’t Kane worthy. Even With a late First
Toews to much, Plain and simple

Ya sure? Cuz this site uses the rules of the cba in its algorithm. It allowed it.

I get it, and if Kane could fetch more, all the better.

With toews, again, depends who you ask. Not to mention, taking back Lundqvist adds value to the hawks.

If we're going for a full rebuild then it seems like Nylander and Barrett would be the last pieces you trade away.

You’re right. I had that wrong. It can be traded pick if it was your original pick. See below.

NOTE: Clubs who do not have all of their own picks cannot substitute those picks with picks they have obtained from other clubs. However, clubs can reacquire their own picks in order to meet the requirements, but they must do so prior to submission

Nylander is cuz I’m really not a fan and he helps get cirelli. Barratt is just because his ceiling isn’t that high.

Man I’d love Kane. We are missing that finisher.

But we can’t lose Krebs. Maybe this

Glass
Fleury
2 firsts
Marshy
Elvenes
NJD 3rd.

Valuing Krebs over Glass is interesting especially when the only #'s Krebs has are his WHL which by the way aren't as good as Glass'. Just because Glass didn't blow people away in his first season doesn't mean he is worse than Krebs.

You gotta remember what Krebs’ style is though. Krebs is a smart two way center. I get that his point wasn’t astronomical, but averaging a point a game with the way he plays is still a great sign. Not taking anything away from glass, but Krebs is a great talent too.

Not to come across as dismissive but you do realize Glass is a two way center right? Scouts compared him to Bergeron in his draft year. Glass was 1st PP and 1st PK on his team and being praised for his ability to play in his own zone and neutral zone. Glass helped lead the Chicago Wolves to the Calder cup after coming in just before their playoff run. I am by no means saying Krebs is bad and I am excited to see what he can do but I can't say he is better than Glass.

Oh I’m not being dismissive towards glass. I know what glass’ playing style is. My response was simply in response to your statement about Krebs.

My rational for taking Krebs over glass was two fold. First, Strome is still in my team for one more year and then he’d be traded next summer, so there wouldn’t be a need for glass who is NHL ready. Krebs would then step in next season after strome was traded. Second, glass’ injury this season has me a little concerned for him. Not enough that I think he’s in trouble, but enough that I wanna take a chance on Krebs (who I’m high on).
