Weegar will cost more than that. But I cant see Tampa matching that offersheet without being in cap hell so ok to that.

Totally agree. With both of the teams tight to the cap and Tampa needing to re-sign Cirelli, Sergachev, and their entire right side, I'm just not sure how much the Leafs would have to offer him to not have Tampa match. I'd rather give up 1-2 picks in an offer sheet compensation than give up Dermott+ in a trade.

We are on the same page with this one. Let's put it another way. You can have 2 Cernaks or one Pietrangelo for the same price. The risk is entirely on Pietrangelo not aging well into the contract. I'm taking 2 Cernaks (or one Cernak and one Weegar as you put it).
