If I'm one of the 3 teams I max 2nd rd offer sheet Cernak or Sergachev, and probably Cirelli, before I trade a 2nd for Johnson. Make them pay me to clear cap...

What does those offer sheets accomplish? Will get rejected. Just because Tampa is in a tough spot cap wise doesn’t suddenly make what they have negative value...

Wings pass, they are rebuilding, not giving up young players and picks for an aging center who declined every season and won't help their rebuild. For Detroit to accept him tampa adds a lot to take that contract and wings give up perlini and that's it

TJ says "nice try, but this nightmare scenario is exactly why I negotiated this deal". . .

Of the 3 I think it'd be Winnipeg.

I'm going to assume they get a ring this year for arguments sake since he is more likely to waive somewhere after getting his name on the trophy. Of those 3 probably WPG but I think he will want to go somewhere that will protect him in expansion (unless he wants to go to Seattle).

Yeah I did this based on the fact I believe they'll win the cup.

Then TB will pay them 4+ mil each over two years. Every other player with cap has either a nmc, a ntc or Killorn's 16 team m-ntc. Vasy doesn't have any protection. They the only team to get a 90 mil cap???

Assuming TJ has value he gets out on waivers and is claimed by a team. Detroit with Yzerman?? Winnipeg needs a 2/3 C...

Not Winnipeg because it was already mentioned by one of the Lightning beat writers that Johnson wont waive for any Canadian team, And the Wings aren't giving up that much for Tyler Johnson he'd be exposed and probably taken in the Seattle expansion draft. Too much for what's probably only going to be one season in Detroit.

Well aware of that - but Minny has no Centers and a mountain of cap space - no reason they couldn't or wouldn't OS a Domi or Cirelli

because it affects there player market. Unless they wanna hear the words "matched" after a day, then they aren't gonna do it

I disagree, Sabre's could still put johnson in a top 6 RW role if staal is a great at 2nd C (in 2020-21) and mentors Cozen to a perfect 2nd C for 2021-22 worst case scenario he's a 5mil 3rd line center which i believe would speak highly of a revamped sabres team that is bloated with D prospects (making laaksonen expendable) and has cozens on an ELC for the length of johnson contract. That being said i can't see why he'd waive his NMC for buffalo, if he does we better take that deal all day.

More of a money thing his contract is bad and the Sabres have a right budget
