I thought you can’t give extension in the NHL trades.. maybe I’m wrong. I’m probably going to get flamed, but I wouldn’t do it. You are trading for two of the oilers players that I like.

The value is definitely there in the oilers trade but Bouchard isn’t going anywhere

I think the implication was they sign extensions with Edmonton.... though, technically they can sign an extension 1 year prior to the end of the season, so, depending on when 2020-21 ends, they may be able to sign the extension and be subsequently traded.

Either way, Edmonton won't have the cap room for any of these extensions, as they are only shedding the salary of Russel, who was off the books next year anyways.

this shouldn't happen as others mention, you gut montreal's current team for some prospects and the presumption that Hall will come to Montreal.

I hate to burst the bubble on all this, but Jarmo has been very clear that Columbus won't be trading away any first-rounders. So that's not happening.
