I don't want to trade for Danault b/c contract & age-wise he doesn't line up with the Rangers core. But you can do far better than that for him

I could just trade Danault to Minnesota for Luke Kunin or Victor Rask or Joel Eriksson Ek

Kunin & Rask are definite downgrades from Danault. JEE is basically a younger version of him from what i've seen Wild fans say

Hope the Rangers keep Strome and move him RW, where he could then move back to center if there's an injury. Would solidify the Rangers center depth. I like a trade of DeAngelo for Danault and Mete.

Though Danault is a UFA after the season, he does have a great cap hit of $3,083,333. Which is nice with the Rangers up against the cap. If things work out next season in NY for Danault, Rangers can resign him after the expansion draft before the start of free agency.

Habs decline. The only reason Danault would be traded is because he doesnt want to be a 3C and feels he belongs in the top 6. Habs already have too many centers, Strome would not make sense.
