Why exactly are we paying an arm and a leg for Fabbro and then overpaying him significantly?

Fabbro trade is not terrible, definitely debatable. Sabres have no need for Manson

The foolish love for other teams RHD, knows no bounds. Really Fabbro? He wasn't that good this year for Nashville.

are you crazy? it is terrible. we're giving up an arm and a leg and then overpaying Fabbro.
Nylander alone is too much. let alone adding a top 4 potential d man and two draft picks.

        Nashville accepts

I like Fabbro but I also really like Liljegren add in a free Nylander and some picks and i can't say no.

        Large overpayment from Toronto though.

Manson is overrated and overpaid in my opinion. In only 50 games this year he only had 9 points and his totals both offensively and defensively have be declining over the last 2 years. He had that one great year back in the 2017-18 season but other then that he has been about an average 3rd pairing guy throughout his career. Yes you could argue that the stats improve on a better team, but when there are guys like Matt Roy and Brandon Montour who are younger, putting up good defensive stats on bad teams (no offence to Buffalo and LA fans), and who will come for a much cheaper price (Both trade wise and against the cap), it doesn't make sense to me to trade for a guy like Manson who has had a couple bad season's in a row.

That's just my personal opinion on Manson, I know it may not be a common one, but I mean the stats don't lie.

I can see him signing a similar deal to Ekholm but adjusted for inflation and cap increases. So something like $4.25m x 6 years or something - if signed long-term.

Because Victor Hedman was playing to his current level as a rookie

Of course not, but he was much better than fabbro. Fabbro’s ceiling isn’t as high as Hedman and you never base a trade on prospects ceiling. Pointed out by the fact that liljegren is involved in the trade.
