Description
taking on kessel's contract is the big selling point for arizona, given all that has come out about their financial situation and lack of ability to make payments on time, this provides them which a few cheaper options and a couple 2nd picks as they look to get younger and more improtantly cheaper.

Yes, they need to sell. But Crouse is definitely not a player that is forcing them to sell. Good player on a nice contract. Not enough value Arizona would want going back

I don’t think we need Domi, but I think we win the trade by virtue of Saad being a UFA while Domi is an RFA. We accept.

Ottawa is the last place in the league willing to take Alzner contract. They dont need "help" to get to the cap floor and they will not pay $5M+ for a burried player.

Arizona isn't taking on Paul Byron who's 31 years old and has 3 years of term left on his deal, Yotes ownership is basically shedding players that are 25 years of age and over. So why would they want Byron for 3 more years? If he had one year left perhaps but this isn't happening.

you dont get "help" getting to the cap floor with a player whose contract you still owe, that only happens with players on LTIR. This is simply getting assets to pay a player when you have cap space you dont need for another year or two. But it also doesnt need to be ottawa, this is a deal that can do to anyone who has the cap space.

Fair enough, i added him because they are still fielding an nhl roster, but could be altered if they would rather another prospect or two, then habs would need to move some more cap around.

I used quotation marks. I know it's not real help...

No team has cap space right now. Every team is in the red because of the abscence of revenues. And if one had 4.5M caphit to spare, they would sell it for way more than a 2nd, 3rd + crap.

Fair that it would cost more than a 2nd and a third, in that instance i would pay wte the going rate is for 4.5mil of cap space.

I don’t think you would, considering it costed Winnipeg (in normal times) Armia + 4th +7th for one year of Mason @$4M, and Alzner has 2 left...

at the time Armia was a gamble, and a 4th and 7th is nothing to give up, i would start the offer with two of our 2nd this year and a third next year and add in prospect if needed. With the amount of picks the habds have i feel like theres a deal to be made.
