Detroit's not taking on other teams aging players without a decent sweetener coming back, Niku is a RD that needs a new deal RD is our strongest organizational strength he's not needed. Add a 2nd and maybe we consider it.

Niku is left handed and has played in the left side basically his whole time in Winnipeg. I know he would prefer the right side but facts are he's a LHD. Niku would be enough of a sweetener for most squads in my opinion...

I like the defensive signings! Brodie was a guy I was considering targeting along with Hamonic as well. For the Henrique deal, value looks good but I would just be hesitant trading for him as our 2C solution seeing how he's on the wrong side of 30...but maybe I'm wrong there. I also would love Derek Grant as our 4C but think he's gotta come in around 1.5m ish?

No worries at all! I don't know if it moves the needle at all from Detroit's end since he is in fact left handed?

Yzerman could have interest in him as a bottom pairing LD, Just have a strong feeling that Torey Krug is coming home here shortly. Danny DeKeyser top pairing LD Torey Krug 2nd pairing LD Niku 3rd pairing LD along with Hronek 1st pairing RD Mo Seider 2nd pairing RD and Lindstrom 3rd pairing RD that might not be too shabby.

Niku needs the opportunity to play and like it's been mentioned above, he can play both sides. the guy has shown flashes, but a little bit of bad luck injuries wise messed with his season last year

That is my prediction as well! I hope Krug signs in Detroit. Sedier should be ready and paired with him as well. I am unsure if Lindstrom is ready to make the jump or could use 1 more year of seasoning play top mins in the AHL? He did look good in his stint later on in the season!

Would really like Yzerman to go after Nikita Zadorov big 6'5 LD just up his alley like in Tampa with the big Dmen.

The thing that i love about Gustav Lindstrom is his calm and coolness the kid makes safe passes and doesn't get rattled easily. He's a perfect bottom pairing RD for us.
