I know this is the rumour going around but it makes no sense for Calgary to do they could resign Brodie and that would put Dumba in their bottom pairing. Monahan is way more important center is their weakest position. So this trade isn’t happening sorry to burst your bubble. Flames 1000% decline

I like it for the Flames. Improves our right side with a younger controllable guy, I know the above is suggesting to re sign /brodie who was great down the stretch but has horrendous stretches every year and skating d men don't age as well as most. Getting younger on the right side and giving us the ability to protect Hanifin, Andersson, Dumba from Seattle is a great option. Flames would obviously need to make other moves to supplement this and improve up front but running Lindholm, Backlund, Haula, Bennett down the middle without Monahan doesn't bother me at all

The framework here is close.

That being said, it's still a 2nd pairing D and a 3rd line RW for Monahan.

The 9th overall selection needs to be included or the Flames look elsewhere. It could even be a pick swap, 9th for 19th to go along with the proposed deal. Although, the Flames will push to keep both picks. There would be a very large market for Monahan, if they choose to move him

I agree, I think the market is wide open if you're looking to move Monahan, which him along with Hanifin are the pieces that I think gets moved if there is a big shake up. I like this trade with the Wild, like you said, I do think there are others that would be better though.
