Three Team Trade With Carolina and Toronto

Description
Not a huge fan of moving Gaudreau (or Dubé for that matter), but just trying to play around to see what the team could look like.

For clarity on the three team trade:
Toronto gets: Pesce and Dubé
Carolina gets: Gaudreau and Andersen
Calgary gets: Nylander and Necas

Seattle expansion:
Protected forwards: Hall, Lindholm, Nylander, Tkachuk, Bennett, Mangiapane, Rakell, Necas (exempt)
Protected defense: Dumba, Andersson, Kylington, Valimaki (exempt), Mackey (exempt)
Protected goalie: Talbot

Cool cool. I saw this trade suggestion posted by a Ducks fan a while back and thought it could work well for both teams, but yeah that makes sense.

Wait why isn't Carolina accepting. They're getting a guy who has been a top 10 scorer in the last 3 or 4 years and a starting goalie (admittedly Gaudreau is coming off a bit of an off season but is still in his prime). That seems like exactly what they're looking for

Why don't the leafs like it? They get their cap under control, get a young and solid top 4 RHD, and an awesome youngster winger who would really help for playoff time.

Dube and Pesce for Nylander and Andersen isn't good value.

Most likely because Carolina is set on their top line. With this trade they’d essentially have 4 first liners a second/third line center and a bunch of third liners on their roster. Personally I’d rather them go for a 50 point player with a much lower price. Strength in depth etc etc

Necas is going to be really fkn good, cant see them moving him at all

Nylander to necas is a huge downgrade. When you add in our starting goalie Pesce is not enough

Gaudreau had 64 points in the regular season and 9 points in 11 games at the same age.

Gaudreau is miles better.

It's cute you think Dube and Pesche is worth Nylander and Freddy when it's arguable they aren't worth either of them alone.
