Carolina is arbitrary in the Murray. I think there's a good chance they get a 2nd to whichever team he goes to.

crazy how much the young goalies value has dropped. in an exert from NHL.com ranking the best goalies in the league back in 2017:

In two NHL seasons, Murray has already become an elite goalie. He has won the Stanley Cup twice, the only player in NHL history to do that as a rookie. He went 32-10-4 with a 2.41 GAA, .923 save percentage and four shutouts last season, and for NHL his career is 41-12-5 with a 2.32 GAA, .925 save percentage and five shutouts in 62 regular-season games.

"He doesn't chase the game around," Weekes said. "He's very calm in the net. He'll make you make the first mistake and make the first move, typically before he will. Now we've just got to see it for the whole year now that the net is his. There's no Marc-Andre Fleury behind you. We know this guy has the pedigree."

I still think Murray has that potential to be an elite starting goalie, he has shown consistent flashes of brilliance, it just sadly wont happen here in pit

That was also written after back to back stanley cups right (heavy recency bias)? and he is unsigned so that makes his value a little more unknown nowadays

yes, but thats the point. Murray has proven he can be an elite goalie. Any pens trade with Murray will be a loss for them, but its going to happen

well he might be able to but I doubt he gets the return penguin fans want. I'm assuming they lose the Murray trade and it will lokk that way for a couple years and they probably won't win unless they get a gem in the draft

It doesn't help that the goalie market is saturated.

Murray had a rough go of things and I do believe a fresh start elsewhere will rejuvenate him.
