Anchor contracts are unmovable

Created by: Haggishands

Description
I'm constructing this team on the assumption that Eriksson, Baertschi, Beagle, and Sutter are anchor contracts that are unmovable. I see Roussel as the only of the club's hefty veteran contracts that may be at all movable, as he is still regarded as a physical presence/stuff disturber, and a positive locker room presence, along with being just 30. I see a deal wherein he is packaged with Demko as the only way to free up salary from that bunch. I also see Jamie Benn as a tradeable asset for a team looking for some physical depth on the blueline, though the return there would obviously be minimal.

Wings pass, roussel is a cap dump for the red wings. Demko would be the price to take him. Not giving up any of those assets. Demko and roussel for erne is the trade

I think what happens with Markstrom is going to be the cascading domino that determines how the goalie free-agent market shake out. It seems to me that almost all of your problems are solved if you bite the bullet and assume that Demko is going to be your number one guy going forward.

I don't see the point of trading for Bernier only to buy him out, thus having to go out and sign Ryan Miller (which ain't happening, in any event).

I agree that isn't an even package, but Demko's playoffs definitely raised his price tag. I still think taking Eriksson's contact back, along with Demko, for someone like an expiring Helm contract, makes the most sense.

You know that's a bad trade, and you know that won't be the trade that will happen.
