Team: 2020-21 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 18, 2020
Published: Sep. 18, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Assume Crow goes to free agency/ retires and the hawks fail to pull off a trade for a goalie or bring in a decent free agent goalie. If this happens the hawks won't be competitive and might as well try to pile up assets for one more run with toews/kane in about 2 years, because without steller goalie play we honestly can't compete with the top teams in the west. Crow led the league in high danger save % last year.

  2. 2021 1st round pick (CBJ)
CBJ
  1. Saad, Brandon

  1. 2020 1st round pick (PIT)
TOR
  1. Murphy, Connor
Additional Details:
Could be to any team for a 1st. Toronto just makes the most sense. TOR fans will complain that Murphy isn't worth a 1st but IMO he is. Not only is he very good but he's also cheap and he's not a rental.
3.

  1. 2022 4th round pick (WPG)
WPG
  1. De Haan, Calvin

anyone that will take him
4.

anywhere. He's a nice depth piece on a contender, cheap, solid at faceoffs and good defensively
6.

  1. 2020 5th round pick (CHI)
Additional Details:
Assuming VAN resigns Markstrom long term. Hawks get Demko for taking almost 8 mil in cap dumps. VAN will be able to resign Tofolli with the savings

Considering what you paid for Muzzin, definitly worth a first. SNS.

You know Muzzin is 50x better then Murphy right? And we didn't even pay that much for Muzzin. The only big piece is the first

IDK who Murray is, but Murphy makes up for his lack of an offensive game by being superior defensively. He's younger, not a pure rental, plays primarily on the right side (which makes him more valuable), and is actually what Toronto actually needs, compared to another offensive D man.

No, muzzin is much better than murphy and that includes defence. The only gmsthat would pay that much for a 2nd pairing defender with negligible offence is chia and fenton, maybe fenton can convince his new boss in Florida to over pay for a one dimensional defender

Worth a 1st but not 15 OA, hes in the ball-park of Montour and not Muzzin. So 2021 1st ( hopefully they wont screw again with better defence including Murphy ) and a B prospect.

What about a top 10 protected 2021 1st from the Jets for Murphy and Da Haan?

That would work, but I worry about what salary we would take back in that deal. Maybe add a cap dump and a third.

Salary you'd take back? Like a Perreault?

Hawks might but WPG would be adding for us taking the dump. Dehaan and Murphy have 2 years and perrault only has 1 so I still don't think it would work. Laine is due for a raise after this year as well
