Neither Barzal nor Pulock are signing that cheaply, Barzal probably comes in close to $9.5m per and Pulock either $6m per or $6.5m per both will get paid handsomely.

Jets decline. We don’t want hickey or Ladd. Both are cap dumps. Same with Boston for boychuck and arguably for clutterbuck as well

Also, you have to keep more than 20 players on you roster, especially if the pandemic continues into the next season cause you won’t be able to call up players easily.

Therefore, you haven’t solved any problems

It certainly solves things for the Isles but how are they getting Aho? And why is Boston taking Boychuk's contract? Why is Winnipeg taking Ladd's contract? I'm also not sure Aho or Barzal are taking 8 years right now - they can sign shorter deals to get them to UFA then cash-in big time at that point. If they sign deals like that now, they're probably costing themselves a lot of money in the long-run .

Can’t. B’s have holes to fill and not much space to do it.

The Islanders are ****ed for cap. They have to sign Toews, Pulock, and Barzal and all 3 will take up all of the available cap space they have. Toews probably won’t be too bad, probably $3.5 million AAV for 3 years. Pulock will be somewhere in between at 5 years, $5 million AAV, which is manageable but not completely ideal either. Barzal is gonna be the worst one. He’s definitely getting 8 years, and probably somewhere between $8.5-9.5 million AAV. I can see him taking it down to $8.75 million AAV at the cheapest, but even that puts the Islanders over the cap. Every UFA they have is probably gone and they’re probably gonna buyout Boychuk, who won’t bring too bad of a flat cap for too long since he’s over 35 years old. But you still have Ladd to deal with and I doubt there’s a team out there willing to take him unless you give up a treasure trove of assets.
