Ladd and Boychuk playing in the Conference Finals probably sinks any hope of "Robidas Island" for them. Sorry Lou

Not giving Pullock 7 year long term is not a good idea

I don't see them retiring but any injury that puts them on LTIR (any surgical procedure with a rehab typically more than 4 months) puts them on LTIR which they sit on until activated. For example a meniscal procedure is a 4-6 week rehab surgery to RTP which is more of a IR situation. Any ligamentous injury or muscle injury (sparin or strain) grade 2 to 3 (partial to complete tear) gives them the best likelihood of LTIR. It is hard to know what injuries guys have sustained in their time with the NHL because of their rules regarding disclosure, especially with COVID now. Those would be examples of situations that I am fairly certain Ladd and boychuk have been rehabbing very frequently in the past. There are obviously many more cases that could arise, especially dealing with back/spinal issues gets complex but these would be things the islanders athletic trainers and docs would be focusing on to let Lou put them on LTIR

No one is hoping. If you know anything about these two players they have missed the past 2 seasons in entirety or almost in entirety due to injuries

Boychuk has played 138/150 games (92%) over the past two seasons. Ladd, yes.
