I mean probably they don't have room to give him quality time. Like I said, it doesn't have to be Grundstrom.

They'd probably want JAD

We don't, at least not right now. Donato deserves at least top 9 minutes and for whatever reason he averaged under 11 minutes per game last year and still scored 14 goals. I think the Parise trade that fell through was intended to get Donato more ice time and PP minutes but it never happened.

All of that being said, I hope we could get more than just Grundstrom for him. If he's traded I'd rather we try to swing a deal for an underwhelming center prospect that still has potential like Borgstrom or Mitts. Maybe JAD fits that bill? Otherwise I like Akil Thomas in your system a lot, but he might be too valuable in a deal for just Donato.

Basically what he said. Donato will score and plays hard, just didn’t get a fair shake in Boston and hasn’t gotten one in Minnesota either. A prospect and maybe a throw away draft pic, like a 5th sounds about right

How many “unfair shakes” does Donato need before people realize he just isnt very good? He’s an organizational depth/fringe NHLer who is best suited as a top 6 injury fill-in guy.

Donato deserves nothing. He scored from a depth role where he could play against weaker competition but is a complete hazard in the d-zone, and mild breeze can knock him off the puck. The center has to play high and the d-men can't cheat into the o-zone because of this.

The kid can score, but is very flawed in a lot of ways.

Zero - the same amount he has deserved.

I'll remember that when Seattle picks him and he turns into a 20-30 goal scorer in a top 6 role.

He has the release to be a 30g scorer, I don't think many will disagree with that. He has the o-zone game to be a force, but it just hasn't click for him yet. He needs to be stronger on the puck. He can't win board battles, and gets knocked off the puck way too easily. He should have been in the AHL to start the season last year.

I really want to see him traded to NJD and play for Ruff. I think that would be best fit for him. I don't think he's a good fit in MN.
