It's been reported AP was ready to sign with the Blues at 7.7 but the blues were unwilling to reveal the structure of the deal prior to AP signing and have told AP to test FA - so chuckle all you want but it's looking more more likely he's out of St.Louis. Now I do not believe the Leafs get him 7.9 x 3 but 8 million x 7 years gets him the 56 million he has publicly stated he wants

What did OEL sign for? He's not better than Josi... Will be shocked if it's much higher than $8mil/yr.

Not signing him for longer than 5 years if I'm GM. And that's if I can't sell him on guiding the team to a couple Cups to raise the salary cap in time for him to score another payday in a few years.

7.7? please link this. Unwilling to reveal the structure of the deal prior to signing is illegal. I am however aware that he was told to test free agency.

It's also not illegal to not reveal the payment structure of a deal prior to signing - it is illegal to not reveal the total compensation prior to signing - eg: 7.7 x 5 = 38.5 million in total compensation ( the blues do not legally need to reveal the payment structure of that deal )

It literally doesn't say he's willing to accept that money, just that the Blues offered that

A 3-year deal for a 30 year old D might be stupidest possible idea, because he's never getting a big contract after that contract expires since he's 33-34 by that point.

Considering that if he lands UFA market and there's many interested teams, I think the bare minimum contract he's taking is around $8,5Mx7.

Absolutely ridiculous to run a tandem of Jack Campbell and Aaron Dell. Leafs finally have a decent goalie in Andersen, and the fans are ready to send him off for a second round pick... and you wonder why the hockey world mocks the Leafs

It's implied that 7.7 wasn't the issue with moving away from the deal, but that the structure of the deal wasn't provided

No freaking way Alex Pietrangelo is signing for 3 x $7,900,000 possibly 7 x 8,500,000 and i still think he gets closer to 7 x 9,000,000.
