We're (MaxDomi13 and I) back for this series!

We believe that Valimaki will be the Flames' top guy in the future for sure. We think he has all the tools necessary to become a top pairing d-man. Speaking of which, we both agree that their top pairing of the future will be Valimaki-Andersson.

Being projected as a great future 2 way d-man who can defend very well while havign a very strong offensive contribution. Speaking of which, a 50-55 pts range is a realistic target for him in the future.

As for the short term, we both think he'll play sheltered 3rd pairing minutes next season to adapt to the NHL game. We believe the Flames' D-core should look like this:
Hanifin-Andersson
Giordano-Gustafsson
Valimaki-Kylington

Having Giordano as his mentor will probably be great for his developement.

Well Gus is probably gone tbh.

As for Valimaki I think they may try and have him play the right side, kinda like Sergachev can switch back and forth. Keep Kylington on the left side.

Here's a clip of his first ever NHL goal. He has a wicked release, this was in his 6th NHL games
This is 2nd NHL point in his 14th game. It's a pretty impressive play that shows a lot of confidence for a rookie.

Unfortunately he got injured after 22 games and didn't return until the end of the season where he played 2 games before playoffs and got 1 point. As well as the final 2 games in the Colorado series where he also secured a point (in game 4). Calgary is very high on the kid because he draws a lot of similarities to Hughes. Very calm and collected at all points in the game, rarely puts himself out of position and shows tons of confidence at both ends of the rink.

It’s a shame that he suffered injuries the past two seasons.

I think he’s going to be very, very good.

Treliving wasn't wiling to part with him for Stone so that says a lot.

That was Välimäki who stepped up with that hit that led to a turnover and the goal from the real deal James Neal?!.. Lol

Yeah that hit was Valimaki. A play like that takes a boat load of confidence and that was only his 14th pro game
