Description

It's a lot that has to work out for the Leafs to get Pietrangelo. Depth scoring will probably be addressed come the deadline, but the team is greatly improved defensively and has an upgrade in net. It gives them at least a two-year window to try and win it all, but the flat cap really hurts them. I think they should look for defense help somewhere else, but it's not 100% impossible to do it without trading Nylander or Marner. That $1.2M they retained on Kessel is really hurting them now

Moving that many players without taking any salary back will be a very tough task. Not impossible but wouldn’t be counting on good returns.

Agreed. But it's money that they have to move out to get it done, but they did get pick 15 for Kapanen, so who knows.
