Description

Vegas. goes all in signing Lehner and Petro, and finds a willing trading partner with lots of cap space and interest in Buffalo. The real shocker is the trade of unhappy Eichel to the desert, with Fleury finding a new home and the last of the first round picks from their inaugural year Cody Glass , Stastny, fan favorite Ryan Reaves and three draft picks.
It further sheds salary by sending out Martinez and Marchy for picks.
Only in a dream scenario for the Knights.

So
Reaves isn’t a very good player.
Fleury is an overpaid goalie that would be a backup.
Stastny Is an older player with one year left.
Glass is a nice start. And those draft picks would be very late 1st.

There is absolutely no way Detroit gives up a 2nd and a 3rd for a 33yr old in the final season of his contract. There is a better chance of NYR taking Askarov with the 1st pick of the draft.

I get that the cost of Eichel is absurd but you can at least try. And Detroit isn’t giving up picks for an aging defenceman

Gave up way too little for Eichel and returned way too little for Marchessault. And too much for Martinez at least for a rebuilding team like Detroit
