Nuclear Explosion

Created by: HatterTParty
Team: 2020-21 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 20, 2020
Published: Sep. 20, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Lineup reflects team setup in two to three years without going too deep into the prospects coming up. In two years, you’d expect to see players like kurashev, Morrison, barratt, Hagel, and teply get their chances on offense and beaudin, kalynuk, and regula getting chances on defense. In the interim, all 4 centers play good defensive games which makes the team more stable. Add in that JC isn’t coaching this team hopefully, and the team can play a more positive style.

I guess MTL has to agree... if it doesn't work, we'll swap him for more later, not a big risk at that price

Wrong side of 30. He’s 31, but I think he still has some good years ahead of him before he falls on the decline.

I’m glad you all say that. Honestly, it’s hard to come up with a consensus for toews in the first place.

My first thought was ehlers, a 1st, and a 3rd. Is that better?

You argue how old Kane is, but it doesn’t change the fact that he’s still a top 5 winger in the league. He’s still gonna be good for 4 more years at least. Vegas already has a core at 30+ years of age. They may as well start taking some chances.

I’m going to tell you that Kane just came off an 100 point season. This is too much, but not by much

That’s the way I saw it for Montreal. I’m not the greatest fan of nylander, and I just want our 3rd back to make the cirelli offer sheet.

Boston is really the only team I can see trading Saad to at the deadline that could get the best out of him. Saad just plays like a Bruin.

That’s sometimes how it works. Not always. Sometimes it’s dany healthy and they fall off a cliff. Either way, a 32 year old with a really big cap hit doesn’t get multiple firsts and multiple high end assets on top of it.

I do think Vegas will give you Fleury, but take out all the other guys from that one, and keep Kane.

Yup. Change to Marshy instead of Tuch and we got a deal

Okay, but here’s the problem. Crosby, Bergeron, stamkos, Ovechkin, and so on. Each of these guys, including Kane, are producing at over 30. You honestly think these players wouldn’t fetch a return like this?

I still think the hawks need to move on from the previous era. This trade is all about trading Kane.

Correct. Also, none of those guys have a 10.5 million cap hit.

Has anything ever happened like this? I can think of one sort of similar example, but it’s a stretch.

Good Lord; not going to comment on the trades as much as the fact that you trade Strome then give up a bigger package for Cirelli who also costs more against the cap, then acquire Glass and throw Dach on the 3rd line. What a strategy mess with the centers

Right. Also all these moves and not one defenseman coming in. The hawks biggest need.

That’s why more cap is going the other way. Hawks end up gaining cap from the Vegas trade.

I won’t dispute that, but I also hope that don’t expect us to actually compete in the playoffs, let alone make em, if we stick to the path we’re on. As long as they don’t push management to move young assets, I’m fine with them retiring here.

I’m not sure I understand the connection your making between strome and cirelli? I get the alluding trading strome and offer sheeting cirelli, but what’s the point?

Dach is never gonna be my 1C, that’s obvious. Cirelli is obviously more offensively inclined than dach at this moment. Glass, if not for his knee issues, woulda outscored dach. There’s nothing wrong with that. Dach is great on defense, why can’t I put him in the 3C and exploit his defensive skill?
